Storm Damage --Be Prepared

6/14/2018 (Permalink)

Cleaning up after a disaster can put you in danger of a lot of different threats, from contaminated water, to animals and insects, to battered wood and sagging ceilings. If you are cleaning up this kind of storm damage, you should be wearing the following:

  • Long pants
  • Long sleeved shirt
  • Sturdy shoes or boots (no tennis shoes or flip flops)
  • Work gloves

It's also a good idea to have these products nearby to have for extra protection:

  • Eye protection
  • Disposable masks
  • Hard hats

In addition, many disasters have unique hazards that require specific precautions. Please consult the Emergency Resource Library for information on a particular disaster. Thank you to our friends at the American Red Cross for this information of safety for our customers.
